Sample Lesson using an InnovativeLanguage.com Audio Course

  1. Greetings (1 min lower levels – 5 min higher levels).
  2. Lesson-centric conversation (up to for 5 min lower levels – up to 25 min for higher levels): can focus on the dialogue or be a logical extension of the dialogue (student should strive to include grammar, key phrases and vocabulary from the lesson, from previous or future lessons in the course and topic related vocabulary).
  3. Lesson-specific activity (24 min for lower levels – 0 min for higher levels): using the lesson notes, read the dialogue (teacher and student alternate reading the dialogue then switch roles with emphasis on improving pronunciation and fluency), questions about the dialogue, extending this to a conversation, sentence creation with vocabulary, read sample sentences, practice using sample.

During the online lesson the student can take advantage of the following tools on the 101 website:

  1. Access to the Lesson Notes,
  2. Access to My Notes, to see notes added before class and add notes during and after class;

Tools not on the 101 website:

  1. Skype text chat where teacher/tutor can text message via Skype any corrections, grammar points, key phrases and newly learned material,
  2. Online dictionary.

After the lesson, the student and teacher should add all of their notes to My Notes section of the 101 website. The student adds notes about material learned, while the teacher adds notes on the students and what things worked and what didn’t.

Assign the Next Lesson for the Next Class

The next lesson would be based on the next sequential lesson in the course. Unless, of course, the teacher would prefer to review several previous lessons if they felt this was appropriate.
